We had an amazing turnout for Pinole Community Service Day on May 16th! 18 incredible volunteers split into two teams to give back to our town. Team 1 (featuring PVHS KIWINS and Sal & Jim from the San Pablo Creek Cleanup Team) cleared a whopping 68 pounds/57 gallons of trash along the trail by Pinole Valley High School. Team 2 headed over to the Pinole Library to plant 21 beautiful California native plants, generously donated by CREEC (Carquinez Regional Environmental Educational Center). Thank you to everyone who pitched in!
FOPCW will host a trash cleanup and invasive plant removal event as part of Pinole Community Service Day.
Park at Pinole Valley Community Church at 2885 Pinole Valley Road (across from the high school) at 9 am. From there we will send out teams to pick up trash along the trail adjacent to Pinole Valley High School and beyond, along the creek. We may also have teams picking up trash or pulling ivy and blackberry sprouts at the library.
Either stop by the Pinole Youth Center on Tennent to register, or join us directly in the parking lot at the church on Pinole Valley Rd. There will be light refreshments and lunch at 11 AM at the Youth Center. You don't want to miss seeing the garden's transformation at the library!
