Bert Mulchaey, Senior Wildlife Biologist and Fish Passage expert, engaged a crowd at the Pinole Library on Feb 24 with a presentation titled The Long Journey Home. He described the removal of all physical impediments to steelhead in Pinole Creek. Bert’s description of the perseverance and commitment needed to see these projects through to completion was inspiring.

EBMUD Senior Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist and FOPCW Board Member Bert Mulchaey will present "The Long Journey Home, The Perseverance of Steelhead and Their Advocates in the Pinole Creek Watershed" on Tuesday Night February 24 at 6:30pm in the Pinole Library Community Room. Bert will tell of the construction of an amazing fish passage which was completed last fall in the upper watershed.  The replacement of an old culvert with a bridge, as well as many other enhancements in the area, removed the final obstruction for steelhead trying to reach the upper watershed to spawn.
