We had 34 volunteers, including many newcomers, a few families, a group from Target, and a group of the Kiwins from PVHS. While the total numbers weren't massive—53 gallons /78.7 pounds—we picked up so many small pieces of plastic that would have eventually made it into the Bay. It was really satisfying. One volunteer even found a $10 bill! Just goes to show that “grime can pay!” We also had a small group cut back some ivy that was choking out a few trees along the creek, giving them new life.
Join FOPCW and your local community on Saturday, August 15 at 10 am in Fernandez Park. We'll clean up trash, address ivy that is choking young and mature trees, and build momentum as we move into the Fall!
